MAA reveals Best Awards finalists

Elvis heads the 21st Marketing Agencies Association (MAA) Best Awards nominations, with 14 campaigns on the shortlist; Iris and DDB UK follow with seven each.
Elvis is also in line for a pop at the Best Agency of the Year award, and will battle this one out with The Big Kick, VCCP and Saatchi & Saatchi X.
The shortlist for the Best Breakthrough Agency includes Bamboo Marketing Communications, Lady Geek, Table 19 and The Market.
The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony March 3, at The Brewery in London. This year’s client-judging panel was headed by Marc Michaels, director of direct and relationship marketing and evaluation at the COI, while the creative judging panel was chaired by Emma Perkins, creative director at Saatchi & Saatchi X.
The Guardian, sponsor of the MAA Best Awards, will also be hosting a People’s Vote to decide the Best Consumer Campaign. Votes are being taken at http://www.guardian.co.uk/best-awards-2011
MAA managing director Scott Knox said: “This year will mark the 21st year of the Best Awards and, in my view, marketing in the UK at the moment really is the best in the world. It is truly testament to these agencies that the calibre of work has improved yet again.”
MAA member agencies include Draft FCB, EHS 4D and DDB UK. It was founded 20 years ago as the SPCA and has been headed by Knox for the past 10 years who oversaw the rebrand to the MCCA. However, it changed its name to the MAA last summer to reflect the increasing diversity of its membership.
