Macmillan Cancer Support has launched a new tribute fund website to help donors remember loved ones while raising vital income for the charity.
WPNC Digital has worked with Macmillan Cancer Support to modernise the service, using its inMem platform, to make it mobile friendly and improve overall user experience.
Tribute funds are viewed as an important part of the grieving process for friends and relatives wishing to honour their loved ones and are also a key revenue source for third-sector organisations.
The website refresh reflects Macmillan’s branding and offers easy-to-navigate services such as creating pages, collecting donations and organising fundraising events. Transferring the data for thousands of existing tribute funds and donations was also a crucial part of migrating to the new platform.
inMem’s features enable tribute fund page creators to upload photos direct from their devices, embed YouTube or Vimeo videos, add memories and information, link to Facebook pages or groups, select themes and customise donation ‘thank you’ emails.
The inMem platform is part of the agency’s goDonate suite of technology specially developed for charities, and also draws on WPNC’s website design and build capabilities.
Macmillan head of regional fundraising planning for individual giving Rachel Kingston said: “We are very pleased to have an up-to-date and fit-for-purpose tribute funds site for our supporters to use, both to remember their loved ones and to raise money for a cause which is important to them. We are now able to offer an on-brand, mobile-optimised and fully-functioning site which has so far been very well reviewed by supporters.”
