OgilvyOne hands role to PwC chief

Mark South, OgilvyOgilvyOne has reacted to the rise of the management consultants by hiring a senior member of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) retail team as head of strategy for Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EAME).
Mark South, formerly retail and FMCG marketing effectiveness lead at PwC, has head up the strategic services business in the UK and across the region. He will also lead the marketing effectiveness practice across UK Ogilvy & Mather Group disciplines.
Reporting to OgilvyOne EAME chief executive Annette King, and her UK sidekick, Sam Williams-Thomas, South will also sit on the UK board.
Having started his career at PwC in 1998, South then had spells at IBM and PA Consulting before returning to PwC five years ago.
Williams-Thomas said: “Mark has led a number of high-profile marketing transformation programmes and brings a wealth of consulting, customer engagement, and business development experience to OgilvyOne.
“Mark will help underpin our dual focus on creativity and effectiveness, and further strengthen our leadership team. It’s great to have Mark on board.”
South said: “The world of marketing consulting is changing as our clients’ needs are changing, and the timing could not be better for OgilvyOne to be offering a new, fresh and exciting perspective for clients.”
