Pulse poaches senior COI man

Pulse Group is building on its senior recruitment drive with the appointment of one of Marc Michaels’ senior lieutenants at the COI, Daniel Pallett, to take on the role of planning director.
The move, which follows the hiring of executive creative directors Magnus Thorne and Paul Turner from Rapp, is part of a wider management restructure to serve a growing client base.
With more than 13 years’ client-side experience, specialising in advertising, digital, direct marketing and CRM, Pallett joins from the COI, where he was deputy director of DRM, working for director of direct and relationship marketing and evaluation Marc Michaels.
During his time at the COI, Daniel led the design and implementation of lead management strategy across a range of high-profile Government campaigns including communication strategy for the Treasury, Armed Forces recruitment and Department of Health initiatives.
At Pulse Group he will head up the independent agency’s planning and strategic division for clients including Emirates, Renault, Morrisons and Blossom Hill.
Pallett said: “I hope to build on Pulse Group’s successes by providing strategic direction that not only helps to expand the agency, but delivers commercial results.”
Pulse Group chief executive Mike Spicer, who has spearheaded the management shake-up since joining the agency 15 months ago, said: “Daniel’s extensive experience in strategic planning, direct and relationship marketing, plus his ability to deliver strong strategic results across for clients through campaigns such as Change4Life, make him a strong addition to the senior team. His appointment fits with our wider restructure and plans for growth, and will add to our existing expertise.”
