Rapp promotes technology chief

Rapp UK has promoted technology director John Markham to the role of chief technology officer, in a move which also see him join the board of directors.
The appointment is designed to reflect the importance of technology and its relationship with data and creativity and, as recognition of Markham’s contribution to leading the agency’s technical strategy and execution.
He has worked at Rapp for more than a decade, joining from Identex when the agency acquired the data business in 2000.
Rapp says the promotion highlights the need for greater integration of data into Rapp’s digital offering, delivering robust measurement across all channels throughout increasingly complex customer journeys and brand interactions.
Markham has recently been responsible for large scale web design and build projects for clients such as Philips, Bacardi and Novartis globally and he heads a team of developers and technical architects across the business. He will be responsible for bringing technology, innovation and creative to the forefront of client solutions.
Markham said: “As data becomes more critical in the world of digital creativity, the fusion of technology and data is fundamental to enable measurement and insight into consumer purchase behaviour across multiple channels and complex user journeys.”
Group strategy director Russell Marsh said: “John is a rare individual who is not only passionate about data and technology but he’s a huge supporter of creativity. His promotion to chief technology officer reflects how much closer creative, technology and data have all become in delivering powerful insights and measuring their integrated effectiveness now that the customer journey includes many different touchpoints.”
