Zoopla plots marketing offensive

Property website Zoopla.co.uk is launching a major advertising blitz, across TV, print and radio, as part of a sustained marketing offensive following its sponsorship of Premier League football club West Bromwich Albion.
The ‘Talking Houses’ campaign will run from this weekend in primetime slots on national TV and radio, with press ads appearing across a range of national titles.
The creative has been devised by VCCP, which was appointed to handle the company’s estimated £3m TV ad account in May 2010. Media planning and buying are being handled by Vizeum.
Founded in 2007 by LiveFilm duo Alex Chesterman and Simon Kain, Zoopla claims to be the UK’s most comprehensive property website. In July 2009, it acquired Thinkproperty.com from the Guardian Media Group. The following month it purchased the PropertyFinder Groups brands, Propertyfinder.com, HotProperty.co.uk and UKPropertyshop.co.uk. It claims to be the second most-visited property website in the UK, behind only Rightmove.
Chesterman, who is chief executive of Zoopla, said: “We are fulfilling our promise of investing heavily in marketing to benefit our members and remain committed to operating the UK’s best known online property brands. Our sponsorship of West Brom is off to a great start and we will continue to invest millions more over the coming months in order to ensure that we continue to be the UK’s most cost-effective online marketing platform.”
