
Stafford will continue in her advisory role for the three companies she already works with, Jacob Bailey, MediaLab Group, and TPG Media, but Adconnection will be her core focus.
She started her career at RD Consultancy in 1991, then spent nearly 14 years at Tri-Direct, before switching to Mindshare in August 2007 to become managing director of direct. Stafford left in April 2013.
Her appointment follows the hiring of All Response Media (ARM) co-founder Cathy McPherson, who joined Adconnection as a director in February 2013, following a spell as a consultant with the business.
McPherson, who has nearly 30 years’ experience in the industry, worked at Media Planning Group, Carat, and CIA Direct (now MEC), before co-founding ARM in 1995 with Andy Sloan.
Adconnection was launched 12 years ago and is headed up by founder Declan Reddington and chief executive Catherine Becker.
The independent agency works across TV, press, radio, cinema, outdoor, digital and social, offering media planning and buying, media strategy and consultation, research, production and creative. Its client-list includes Maplin Electronics, Bonhams, Britax, 888, Lovestruck, Pharmacare Europe and Wagamama.
