Busty struggles with a threesome

Busty picBet you never thought you’d read this headline did you? But why, oh why is it that you wait ages for a decent free alcohol-fuelled night out and then three come along at once…on consecutive nights.
I keep telling you it’s not easy being me, but there’s Sauvignon to be drink and flesh to be pressed. Not that three evenings out spent in the company of Royal Mail, D&AD and a PR agency would be everyone’s idea of fun, fun, fun, but hey, welcome to my world.
It is all due to kick off on Tuesday, with the launch of Royal Mail’s new marketing campaign by Publicis Chemistry, which I believe is also due to run on this august website (see, I predicted something big was going to happen after the DecisionMarketing Christmas lunch).
Mind you, the invite does pose a few questions…like, what the hell is Robert Senior’s mug doing all over it? Doesn’t he work for Saatchi & Saatchi? Should Publicis Chemistry boss Mike Welsh be worried?
There is also no sign of ECD David Prideaux, chief strategy officer Kevin Allen, or new biz queen Laura Holme…in fact, the whole Publicis Chemistry team seems to have been Photoshopped out (a bit like that Ford ad back in the day which deleted all the black people).
However, we do have Nik Roope from Poke, Elspeth Lynn from M&C Saatchi, Karen Blackett from MediaCom and David Robinson from The Sun. Quite why, is anyone’s guess, but hey, there are free drinks all night…
On Wednesday evening I will be having it large at Lida (with a bit of luck), where D&AD Awards director Holly Hall “hosts a top notch panel who will share the most challenging, dynamic and ground-breaking direct work from the past decade”. Please God help me…
They will also unveil the campaigns they admire, under the banner “I wish I’d done that”…should be a short presentation then. Still more time for drinking, and I might even let Mr Lida bend me over his desk for old time’s sake.
Finally on Thursday I will be staggering around the offices of PR agency Limelight for their Christmas, er, I mean New Year party. Doubt if I’ll be looking my best by then, but a girl’s gotta do, what a girl’s gotta do and the sisters from Granby are bound to be there, too.
But, of course, the person I’m really looking forward to seeing is the rather dashing Ian “George Clooney” McCawley, PR to the, er, stars. He’s promised to get me into the national press – a nice slot on Page 3 maybe? Mind you, knowing my luck, he’ll probably be off sick…
