They say you should never under-estimate the power of the press – and this week dear readers, they are saying you should never under-estimate the power of Busty Idol.
You see, just last week I was extolling the virtues of the DMA’s head of PR Rachel Aldighieri, admittedly partly to ensure I got my ticket for the DMA Awards but mostly because she has obviously been doing a good job – winning awards and everything.
And, lo and behold, not only did I get my ticket, but she got promoted to director of communications, too.
Thing is, this got me thinking…Times are tough out there so maybe I could start offering to build people up in this column in return for a small fee. After all, it is obviously read by all the top people, so I could build a few careers and build my bank balance at the same time. Of course, discretion is guaranteed. Well, we don’t want everyone to find out do we? So, come on, get in touch, you know it makes sense.
So, having secured my place at the industry awards event of the year I have been scouring the shops for a new outfit – a girl has to look her best, you know – and bumped into two of Mardev-DM2’s finest, Zina Manda and Zoe Maolmmhaa… er Maolmhog…er, well, Zoe from Mardev, who were having a ‘meeting’. And lovely it was to see them, too.
Apparently they are going to more parties next week than I am, which I found rather upsetting but, hey, you can’t blag them all, and even I can’t charm my way into the Mardev Christmas do.
Anyway, they had some great tips for me about website design too, as they are owned by magazine publisher Reed. It transpires that Farmers Weekly is having a great deal of trouble getting through the rather draconian Internet firewalls of many companies because of the amount of ‘pink’ in pictures of pigs. Apparently this is mistakenly recognised as human flesh – ie nude women – and, as they say in the trade, users are ‘logged and denied’.
All of which means my esteemed editor has had to cancel his plans to launch a Busty Idol 2012 Calendar – as, believe me, there was plenty of ‘pink’ on show on that one. Still, anyone wanting to get hold of a hard copy knows where to come…
