“So, here it is Merry Christmas, everybody’s having fun, look to the future, it’s only just begun.” Doncha just love a good ol’ seasonal sing-song? Here in the Idol household we’ve been playing festive tunes all week and I’m really feeling “Christmassy” now.
My Lida man is certainly in for a treat, too, as I’ve already bought my Sexy Red Naughty Miss Whiplash Santa Costume. My new LKBs set it off lovely…but being the consummate professional he’s working right up to Christmas Eve. Well, you don’t get to win Campaign’s Customer Engagement Agency of the Year by slacking do you?
Still, never mind, I’m off on the DecisionMarketing Christmas lunch today, the only time of the year when my esteemed editor gets his wallet out and buys me a drink. McKelvey? Tight? Never… Of course, never being one to miss an opportunity, he’s actually inviting along a potential advertiser, so I will no doubt be busy most of the afternoon and probably most of the evening, too, using my world-renowned powers of persuasion…
However, I am a little suspicious that McKelvey’s been secretly stealing all the presents you lot have no doubt been sending in. I mean, all I’ve had so far is the usual calendar from TDA, a couple of face-masks from Mike Cavers, and loads of Christmas cards from people I’ve never heard of (I feel your pain Jezza).
Whatever happened to the days when you would be literally swimming in free booze? Guess I need to start writing nice things about you lot, then.
Still, I’ll forgive you I suppose – there’s still a recession on apparently. All that’s left now is the traditional Busty seasonal sing-song, so, with apologies to Ding Dong Merrily on High song-smith George Ratcliffe Woodward (1848–1934), altogether now…
