Global children’s charity Touraid, which supports projects for disadvantaged children through sport, has appointed Arc Worldwide as its first ever marketing agency.
The appointment, handled by Oystercatchers without a pitch, will include a range of activity including major direct marketing and online initiatives.
Set up in November 2006, Toraid offers children from Africa, Asia and the West Indies the chance to participate in sport and cultural activities with UK schools and clubs. Through these tours, links and partnerships are fostered providing educational, cultural and social benefits to underprivileged children.
Though the charity has seen rugby as the catalyst for these partnerships in the past, it is planning to expand its tours to include music, drama, dance and other sports.
Touraid chief executive Andy Berry said: “Arc is one of the UK’s leading creative agencies I am delighted to be working with the team to release the magic of Touraid.”
Arc executive creative director Beri Cheetham added: “Having witnessed the monumental impact rugby has had on my ten year old son’s life, I’m more than delighted to be in a position where we can help children in the developing world benefit too. The team we’ve assembled on Touraid have rugby and creativity in their blood, so there is no end of passion for this important cause.”
