Dave Harris takes DraftFCB top job

dave harrisFormer Wunderman creative chief Dave Harris has re-emerged as executive creative director at DraftFCB London, a role left vacant at the agency since the exit of Mark Fiddes more than a year ago.
When Fiddes left, head of ideas Alistair Ross effectively took over the role as head of creative, although not under the ECD title. It is thought this was due to contractual issues.
Ross quit DraftFCB in February to become creative partner at The Gate; he joins in May. Fiddes set up Yourbrand² last April.
Reporting to DraftFCB UK and Europe president Kate Howe, Harris will head up the entire creative department, with digital creative director Steven Bennett-Day reporting into him.
Harris will also become a member of DraftFCB’s European Creative Council.
DraftFCB clients include Hyundai, Coca-Cola, Novartis, and Kraft Foods; it also recently scooped a place on the Government’s new digital roster.
Harris walked out of Wunderman last month, where he had been ECD for six years. His exit was prompted by the appointment a new creative boss – chief creative officer Matt Batten – as well as Harris’ former Lida underling Mel Cruickshank to chief executive.
Howe said: “David’s outstanding experience in integrated communications and belief in the power of great storytelling are perfect for our clients and agency.
Harris added: “I am very excited by the huge creative potential of DraftFCB’s portfolio and can’t wait to join the team in supporting and enhancing the agency’s fully integrated model.”
