DigitasLBi joins jobseeker scheme

DigitasLBI joins jobseekers schemeDigitasLBi has become one of the first agencies to sign up to a new initiative offering jobseekers and graduates a chance to find out what a career in the digital sector would be like.
The scheme, dubbed a “Day in the Life of”, is the brainchild of digital recruitment specialist Bubble Jobs. As well as Digitas, the firm has teamed up with the likes of River Island, Benefit Cosmetics and QVC to feature a series of articles on Bubble Jobs’ Digital Career Portal, which is a free careers hub for those considering a move to the digital sector.
So far the partners have featured roles such as a search engine optimisation (SEO) manager at River Island, a digital manager at Benefit Cosmetics, an e-commerce merchandiser at QVC, a media innovations director at DigitasLBi, a head of pay per click (PPC) at Mediaworks and a content marketing executive at Koozai.
Auto Trader, Fat Free Media, Return On Digital, AllofUs, mark-making, Spindogs and Creative & Cultural Skills have also contributed articles.
DigitasLBi’s UK PR and marketing director Julia Conroy said: “While the digital industry is certainly growing, there is a lack of awareness about the actual career prospects within it, so anything we can do to shine the spotlight on such a fantastic sector is something we would always like to be a part of.”
Bubble Jobs’ digital marketing manager Amy Edwards (pictured) said: “We decided to start this initiative as part of our commitment to raising awareness of digital jobs among graduates, students and jobseekers in general.
“Through our career advisor events and discussions with jobseekers, it became apparent that there was a lack of knowledge around the responsibilities of different roles in the industry, and we wanted to address that.”
