Fiona Scott’s return to direct marketing agency-land has come to an abrupt halt after it was revealed that she has left her role as managing director of Elvis, after just six months in the job.
She has been succeeded by deputy managing director Tanya Brookfield, promoted from client services director when Scott was first recruited, who will be supported by co-founder Martin Semmens.
At the time of her appointment Semmens said: “Fiona brings with her an impeccable pedigree, strong leadership credentials and a deep understanding of the future of our space. She will be a great asset to our leadership team here.” The move is understood to have been spurred by former Red Brick Road boss Paul Hammersley being appointed as group chief executive officer of Elvis parent company EDC Communication Europe.
He is quoted as saying: “We now have in place the best team to take Elvis forward, with its founder Martin at the helm and Tanya promoted to MD.”
The agency is also hunting for a new executive creative director following the departure of John Treacy, who has left to join Proximity London.
Scott had been out of the industry for more than five years, after leaving Craik Jones in December 2007. She was among a number of high-level exits over a two-month period, including managing director Jackie Stevenson, co-founder David Watson and creative chief Mark Buckingham.
The agency merged with Proximity London a year later and was axed.
