Equimedia has hired former Amaze One chief Neil Evans as chief operating officer in a move which has triggered a major recruitment drive at the digital media specialist.
Evans has joined from Cheltenham-based charity agency DMS, where he has been chief executive since July last year. Prior to that he led the creation of Amaze One, a joint venture between Amaze and Occam.
Founded in 1999 by former Tri-Direct chiefs, including chief executive Andrew Burgess, Equimedia was initially set up as a direct response specialist but has since expanded into digital media.
It has offices in Swindon and London as well as in Atlanta, Georgia, which clients spanning 34 countries. Since launch it has worked with the likes of Cornhill, Allianz, BMW, Petplan, New York Bakery Company, Age UK, Mind, WH Smith, and Aldermore Bank.
The agency is now seeking a raft of recruits including account handlers, planners, SEO specialists and a head of digital content.
Commenting on his appointment, Evans said: “I have had a long standing ambition to join up data, digital and media which I believe is going to come true in this role. They are great people, and have great clients; it is a great opportunity. We’re working through the plans for the next three years and more will come as we develop the Equimedia management team.”
