The woman who stepped into Matt Atkinson shoes as Tesco’s top marketer has followed the former Havas EHS man out of the door after nearly 15 years with the supermarket giant.
Jill Easterbrook started her career in merchandising at Marks & Spencer, and joined Tesco as business development director in 2001.
Within three years she was stores director then moved around the business, from director of corporate affairs to group strategy director and director of clothing to managing director of corporate business.
In July last year, Easterbrook succeeded Atkinson in a newly created role of chief customer officer, although was appointed group business transformation director within months to oversee chief executive Dave Lewis’ restructure. Robin Terell took on her marketing role, while Barclays brand boss Michelle McEttrick became group brand director.
A Tesco spokeswoman said: “After 15 years at Tesco, Jill Easterbrook has decided to leave the company early next year. Jill has held a number of leadership positions across Tesco including running UK Clothing, leading our Developing Businesses and most recently, overseeing the first phase of our turnaround as group transformation director.
“We’d like to thank Jill for her outstanding work during her time at Tesco and wish her every success for the future.”
