Fuel hires Fuller and Witherell

lee and otherCharles Ping, recently installed boss of Engine Group’s data consultancy Fuel, has delved into his contacts’ book to hand senior roles to Nick Fuller and Lee Witherell.
Fuller (left) joins from eBay-owned e-Dialog, where he was director of planning and development. With more than 25 years’ experience in the direct marketing and data industries, he is a former chair of the DMA Mobile Marketing Council and has sat on the DMA Advisory Council.
Witherell (right) has worked at Equifax, Acxiom, Chemistry and Proximity and joins from US CRM agency Merkle, where he headed up CRM insight. Witherell has been in the business nearly 20 years.
Ping said: “Successful use of data is key to brands and their relationships with consumers. Lee and Nick will be leading our incredibly strong planning and analytics teams and will help Fuel to continue to deliver and exceed our clients’ expectations.”
Ping joined Fuel last summer after quitting his role as strategy director of Communisis. The former DMA chairman has been charged with building up the business and bedding in accounts such as The Glenlivet, T-Mobile and Wickes.
He succeeded Simon Wall, who left to pursue “new interests”; managing director Edmund Smiley-Jones quit in the autumn.
