GI Insight has bolstered its data analysis team with two senior hires – former Asda chief Melanie Brown and ex-UBM head Andrew Atkins – following the appointment of commercial director Kirk Dobie.
The two additions to the team will work under Dobie to strengthen the delivery of data analysis across the company’s retail client base, while spearheading strategic account management.
Adkins will head a team of 15 data analysts, with Brown managing a smaller team under his direction. Adkin’s responsibilities include reviewing and refining GI Insight’s technology solutions in order to improve and raise the company’s analytics offering.
He has 17 years’ experience in database marketing and has worked with large mail order catalogues and web-driven businesses, as well as Findel, Mintel and United Business Media.
Brown started her career in market research at MMR Research Worldwide and then she moved to Elsevier before shifting into retail insight at Asda, where for nearly four years she worked mainly on the George brand clothing side of the business.
Dobie has more than 20 years’ experience in the data industry, having held senior roles at Experian, Equifax, CoreLogic, AC Nielsen and Callcredit’s GMAP. His overall remit is to promote growth of the company’s successful loyalty, consumer insight and data management business – both with existing customers and prospects.
Dobie said: “Both Andrew and Melanie bring strong track records in various aspects of data analysis, and we’re thrilled to have them on board. Ensuring delivery of actionable insight and proven incremental revenue is central to our business aims, and I am positive that, with these additions, the combined expertise of our team can continue to achieve this and more.”
