‘Gold Digger’ Ikea grovels after double charge gaffe

ikea kanyeIkea may have refused the advances of Kanye West but it is facing accusations of being a “Gold Digger” itself after a systems gaffe has led to the Swedish retailer charging scores of customers twice for their shop.
Ikea customers are being advised to check their bank statements to ensure they were not double-charged for purchases, with the chain confirming the glitch had affected all UK branches.
“We are actively working with the payment service provider to rectify these transactions as quickly as possible so that those affected will have the duplicate payments released back to them by their banks,” Donna Moore, from Ikea UK, told Mirror Money. “We apologise for any inconvenience that this caused and if any of our customers are concerned they are welcome to contact us to discuss the matter.”
The Swedish firm confirmed that so far 102 of its customers had been refunded and said it is proactively working to pay back everyone affected by the mistake.
Earlier this week, the self-proclaimed “biggest rockstar on the planet” told DJ Annie Mac that “I have to work with Ikea – make furniture for interior design, for architecture”. However, the proposal was mocked by Ikea Australia, which posted on its Facebook page: “Hej Kanye, we’d love to see what you’d create…we could make you Famous!”
