Kitcatt new biz chief joins VCCP

Kitcatt new biz chief joins VCCPKitcatt Nohr head of new business and marketing Steve Garside has quit the agency just six months after his mentor Tracey Barber left, and is  joining VCCP as new business director.
Garside had joined Kitcatt Nohr 18 months ago to be reunited with his former boss Barber – he worked for her at Havas EHS between 2007 and 2010 – and she was instrumental in his appointment.
However, Barber left in August last year to rejoin EHS (now Havas Helia) as group chief marketing officer, and Garside was promoted to lead the new business, marketing and PR strategy for Kitcatt Nohr.
Prior to that, Garside ran new business at Pulse Group, the agency which is sprearheaded by another former EHS chief, Mike Spicer, who was MD of the agency between 2008 and 2010.
Last year, VCCP picked up a swathe of new business, including BMW’s motorcyle brand Motorrad, Grolsch, Dockers, and Asos, while its direct arm, VCCP Me landed the Kia CRM account.
In a recommendation on LinkedIn, Barber said: “[Steve is] smart and super intelligent with a gift for patient charm. Without a doubt a rising star with real aptitude and natural flair.”
