Momentum Worldwide has appointed Virgin Active head of retention and customer insight Dean Taylor to the new role of director of creative strategy, overseeing the team of planners and digital strategists across the London and Manchester offices.
Reporting into Momentum UK president Luke D’Arcy, Taylor will be responsible for working with the agency’s global and UK clients such as American Express, Coca-Cola, Asda and Microsoft. In addition to this, he will manage the agency’s research programme and strategic development tools.
The role has been created to tap into customer and business intelligence in an effort to improve consumer engagement, sponsorships and partnerships.
Taylor started his career at Britvic but has spent the past nine years at Virgin Group. He has also had spells at Sony Ericsson, where as global marketing manager he oversaw the Sony mobile placements globally for Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace, and was UK sponsorship manager at Nokia.
D’Arcy, who met Taylor during his time at KLP Euro RSCG, said; “Dean’s mix of client and agency experience makes him a great addition to the business. Given his work at brands like Sony, Nokia, Britvic and Virgin he is a unique blend of creative, planner and strategist. He is one of the smartest guys in the industry and understands you can’t block an experience.”
