OMD UK has appointed former Channel 4 head of client and comms strategy Clare Peters as chief strategy and effectiveness officer, with immediate effect following the recent appointment of Charlie Ebdy to chief strategy officer of Omnicom Media Group.
Peters will be tasked with further advancing the insight, analytics, and strategic capability within the agency, as well as working with the CEO Suzy Ryder, to drive the future of OMD UK in line with the changing needs of clients.
During her time at Channel 4, Peters was responsible for the broadcaster’s client and commercial marketing strategy and proposition. In addition, she was a driving force and champion for better representation in media during her time at the broadcaster through projects such as Black to Front and more.
Peters was previously chief business strategist at Manning Gottlieb OMD, where she worked for 15 years, including six as head of planning. Brands Peters has worked on include Age UK, Diet Coke, John Lewis, Sony PlayStation and Virgin Trains.
Peters said: “I feel really privileged to be joining the team at OMD UK. It is an agency that has consistently been in the top flight of our industry and over the last few years has enjoyed incredible levels of success. I’ve already met some wonderful people in the agency and can’t wait to rejoin OMG and to help shape the next chapter of the business.”
Ryder added: “Clare embodies everything we value at OMD, her passion for work that delivers impact and results, combined with her passion for creativity, people and representation makes her the perfect fit for our next chapter of growth.”
The news follows new leadership roles for Laura Packshaw, Lina Angelides, Sabina Usher and Helen Barber following a period of growth at the agency.
