US tech group buys digital shop We Are Experience

Photo-Chris-AverillDigital design and tech specialist WAE – which includes We are London and We are Experience – has been bought by US technology services company Globant for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2003, WAE has a team of 40 professionals working from offices in London and New York, who have developed deep know-how in some of the most innovative technology trends, and have applied this knowledge for many FTSE and Fortune 500 companies.
Its UK clients include HSBC, Lloyds Banking Group, Savills, Zurich and Trasport for London. Last year, WAE set up The Customer Lab with OgilvyOne, a physical research centre and virtual resource, designed to make game-changing improvements to customer engagement.
The acquisition is aligned with Globant’s focus of creating digital journeys involving three pillars: helping its customers stay relevant, working with them to discover their digital journeys and then building these journeys based on the latest trends and technologies.
Globant chief executive and co-founder Martín Migoya said: “WAE shares our vision and recognises the importance of creating unique experiences for our clients and their end users. The company shares our passion for creativity, innovation, and design. Its professionals are experts in conceiving strategies that can revolutionise brands.
“This new endeavor strengthens Globant’s vision of becoming the best partner to help our clients engage in profound digital transformations and create digital journeys that will help them address changes in the digital landscape.
WAE founder and chief executive Chris Averill added: “Globant is an extraordinary company that shares our passion and has a unique and different approach to creating digital journeys and software products.
“Its growth story and focus make it our perfect match, so we are thrilled with the possibilities that will open in front of us.”
