
His fellow co-founders and owners, former Joshua creative chiefs Brian Storey and Xanthos Christodoulou, have taken over the running of Wand, while the fourth co-founder, Vidhu Kapur, left last year and now heads up creative services at Ogilvy.
Winton started his agency career in 1997 at Black Cat (which was merged into RMG, subsequently folding into JWT). He became managing director before leaving in 2003 to take up the role of marketing director at Betfair.
In June 2005, he joined forces with Story, Christodoulou and Kapur to launch Wand. The agency has specialised mainly in financial services, with clients including Schroders, Barings and JP Morgan. It also works for Ladbrokes, MacDonald Hotels & Resorts as well as Bensons for Beds.
Golley Slater is an independent, full-service agency which offers direct marketing, advertising, media, digital and PR.
The group, with clients including The Army, Furniture Village, TK Maxx, and Twinings, has offices in London, Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, Cardiff, Bristol, Bangor, Cirencester and Cambridge.
