Wyatt takes TBCH top creative role

phil wyatt 2Targetbase Claydon Heeley has appointed Phil Wyatt as executive creative director, succeeding Chris Martin who quit the agency just under six months ago to join Watson Philips Norman.
Wyatt started his career in 1989 at Waldron Allen Henry & Thompson – where 23Red founder Jane Asscher also started her career. The ad agency was famous for the classic Commercial Union slogan, “We Won’t Make A Drama Out Of A Crisis”.
He then had spells at TBWA, Bozell, Banks Hoggins O’Shea, before joining OgilvyOne as a senior art director in 1996. This was followed by six years freelancing, then roles at Kitcatt Nohr, a return to Ogilvy, then on to Proximity and Rapp. He joins TBCH from Ogilvy Healthworld, where he has been creative director.
Wyatt has won over 55 top industry awards, 44 in the last seven years, across all media, and has worked on the likes of Microsoft, Waitrose, John Lewis, British Gas, Toyota, and Vodafone.
Wyatt said: “In an era where creativity within the industry is being questioned, it is great to be joining an agency that puts such an impetus on new ideas. Lots of agencies talk about pushing the boundaries but TBCH actually does it. I feel TBCH can make a huge difference in the next chapter of the industry and am looking forward to playing my part in this.”
TBCH chief executive Steve Grout, who resigned last month and is due to join Tangent Snowball imminently, said: “Phil’s philosophy and approach fits perfectly with our vision for TBCH’s growth and we’re looking forward to seeing what fresh perspectives he brings to the table.”
The agency has yet to find a successor for Grout.
