The DMA has revealed that Channel 4’s chief executive David Abraham has been appointed chair of judges for the Awards 2014, overseeing the judging process, including the Grand Prix.
Previous chairs of judges have included British playwright, director and screen writer Stephen Poliakoff, Red or Dead founder Wayne Hemingway, ASA chairman Lord Smith, vice-chair of Ogilvy Group UK Rory Sutherland and film producer Lord Puttnam.
Mark Runacus, chair of the DMA Awards committee and director of loyalty and relationship marketing at Karmarama, commented: “David is the perfect choice to head up the judging of the 2014 Awards. Over the past year, the DMA has worked closely with Channel 4 to explore and promote innovation in targeted one-to-one marketing via TV.
“Throughout his career, David has earned a reputation as an innovator. Now, he is driving incredible innovation in addressable TV across the Channel 4’s family of channels. We’re very pleased that David will lead the 2014 Awards judging process to recognise and reward genuinely innovative entries that have made a real difference and will continue to make a real difference.”
The 2014 DMA Awards are supported by headline sponsors TNT Post and customer engagement experts Emarsys. The winners of the 2014 DMAs will be announced at the Awards ball to be held at Old Billingsgate in the City of London on 2 December.
