Cadbury uses Google+ for new line

Cadbury is claiming a ‘world first’ by releasing a secret new flavour exclusively via a Google+ Hangout On-Air.
The Hangout, to be hosted on Tuesday (September 25th) at 6pm by two Joyville workers, will see nine Cadbury fans be the first people in the world to sample the new Cadbury flavour live on-air.
The fans will be sent the product in advance and have been instructed not to open it until the event on Tuesday, where everyone will open and taste their mystery chocolate at the same time.
Cadbury’s Google+ community, which is now at almost 2.5 million, is invited to watch the unveil live or on Cadbury’s YouTube channel.
Kraft Foods social media manager Jerry Daykin said:”When we announced the original Dairy Milk Bubbly on Google+ back in January the response was incredible, with the post sticking at the top of the “What’s Hot” section.
“Now that we’ve built a ten times larger community on the platform it felt right to reward fans with something bigger and more exclusive. We see Hangouts as a great opportunity to directly connect with some of our most enthusiastic fans whilst creating content we can share more widely with millions; we’ve also consistently seen that increased activity on our Google+ Page boosts our wider search rankings and website visits.”
Cadbury UK recently launched two new products, Dairy Milk Golden Biscuit Crunch and Dairy Milk Toffee Popcorn with a Twitter Promoted Trend.
The company has hosted a number Hangouts, featuring Olympic champions including swimmer Rebecca Adlington and British Bicycle Motocross (BMX) racer Shanaze Reade.
