Hollywood star George Clooney has returned for a new Nespresso celebrity-filled ad, that plays heavily on Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express, in which he plays an Hercule Poirot-style detective, attempting to track down a Nespresso capsule thief.
Also featuring Camille Cottin and Kim Go Eun, the film transports viewers aboard a fictional luxurious train, when Cottin, who plays a glamorous heiress, reports a theft. However, it is not her diamonds or pearls she is missing but her “precious” Nespresso coffee capsules.
Enter detective Clooney, who uncovers clues and a suspicious cast of characters that ultimately lead him to the train’s kitchen, and the revelation that the capsules have been purloined by none other than the train’s chef, Eva Longoria.
Alfred is Nespresso’s consumer communications agency in the UK, handling creative campaigns, strategic consultancy, and media engagement for Nespresso’s coffee machines, capsules, and accessories.
Clooney said: “Shooting with Nespresso is always a great time, and this particular campaign was unbelievably fun because of the script and the cast. This was my first time working with my long-time friend Eva, who made the perfect culinary duo with Kim trying to deceive me.
“They both brought such a vibrant energy to set and worked so seamlessly together. It was also wonderful to be reunited with Camille. She always brings a touch of sophistication, which was perfect for this role.”
Breaking worldwide from tomorrow (January 15), the campaign will feature throughout Nespresso promotional material for the rest of the year, including on all digital platforms, social media and in-store activations.
