Decision Marketing opens content marketing business

McContentDecision Marketing is launching a new content division – McContent & Design – to offer clients more than 50 years’ copywriting, editorial and design expertise.
As well as working with Decision Marketing, the company will seek its own separate client base, offering a range of services to client organisations, agencies and suppliers, including content strategy and creation, thought leadership, editorial and PR, corporate branding, illustration and design.
McContent & Design will also tap into a team of hand-picked freelance experts.
The venture reunites Decision Marketing editor Charlie McKelvey with former colleague Ian McCawley, 20 years ago after they first worked together at Centaur Media.
The duo met at Marketing Week in the late Nineties and teamed up again on Precision Marketing. In 2004, in addition to their roles on Precision Marketing, they spearheaded the launch of IT and marketing monthly magazine Data Strategy.
McCawley left Centaur in 2006 and has spent the past decade in PR, spanning senior roles at B2B PR agencies including Eulogy, Limelight and Acuity, part of new business consultancy Ingenuity, where he will continue in his primary role as editor-in-chief.
McKelvey left the company in 2008 to set up editorial consultancy McKelvey Ink, advising client companies, agencies and suppliers on their content strategies.
In 2011, he also launched Decision Marketing, which remains the UK’s only independently-owned online magazine solely dedicated to the direct, digital and data-driven marketing industries.
McCawley said: “Content and editorial are a natural fit; both are based on the craft of storytelling. I’m delighted to be teaming up again with Charlie and look forward to helping produce world-class content for our clients.”
McKelvey added: “Ian and I have been talking about launching a business for years and the timing of this venture could not have been better.
