Deloitte Digital has swooped for yet another former Amaze chief by appointing ex-chief technology officer Matt Clarke as a partner and director.
The move follows last week’s hiring of former chief commercial officer Wendy Stonefield as a director; it is understood both have a brief to build the digital agency’s content and commerce offering.
Deloitte Digital specialises in mobile, social, web, content management, digital strategy, design, and digital ERP.
Clarke started his career at Amaze in 1999 as technical manager and rose through the ranks to become chief operating officer before leaving in 2006 to take up the role of head of technology at Steljes Group. However, he returned to Amaze as chief technology officer but left late last year following the departure of chief executive Natalie Gross.
Gross and chief strategy officer Rick Curtis recently joined Th_nk as part of a major expansion strategy.
Commenting on the appointments, Deloitte Digital UK head Sam Roddick said: “Now that digital commerce is an essential part of how any business engages with customers, we are seeing an increased demand for multidisciplinary skills to help deliver on our client’s ambitions. As Deloitte continues to grow as a creative digital consultancy, Matthew and Wendy will be an important part of our plans going forward.”
Deloitte has been moving aggressively into the agency market; last month it added Market Gravity, a digital design firm with operations in London, Edinburgh and New York to its recent acquisitions, which also San Francisco based shop Heat.
