Dick Bloomfield departs G2

G2 business development director and DM industry stalwart Dick Bloomfield has left the agency to pursue “new opportunities” in the agency world.
Bloomfield joined the agency – which rebranded as G2 from Joshua last year – in 2002 and has worked for a number of chief executives including Peter Thompson, Mike Cornwell and Tim Hipperson.
Bloomfield joined Joshua from FCA, where he was managing director. Starting at FCA in 1990, he took the agency into the Publicis network into 1994. He left the agency before Publicis collapsed it into its group operations and then acted as a strategic consultant to COI Communications.
Bloomfield began his career at Lintas in 1970 and spent time at McCann’s before launching his own agency, Legon Bloomfield Associates, in 1980.
At the time of his appointment in 2002, Thompson said: “The role of business development director is a new one. [Dick] understands how agencies and clients work best and how strategy, integration and creativity all work together to produce better results.”

  1. Good luck Dick, shame you never invited me to one of your Cowes days!
