Experian bomb threat man charged

A Notts man has been charged with calling in a threat to bomb the head offices of Experian in Nottingham, which sparked a major response by police officers and fire-fighters.
Figures for how many people work in the Landmark House HQ have not be released, but Experian has about 3,000 people across six sites in the UK, and is one of Nottingham’s biggest employers.
Appearing at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court, 31-year-old Grant Bradley from Sherbrook Road, Daybrook, was charged with communicating false information with the intention of inducing the belief that a bomb was present.
He allegedly made the call to Experian on February 24. The case has now been sent to Nottingham Crown Court. Bradley has been bailed with no conditions.
It is not known what sparked the hoax, although as one of the biggest credit reference companies in the UK, Experian is often on the receiving end of complaints from consumers who have been denied credit, especially online. It has also faced criticism over its Experian Credit Expert service.
On the Consumer Scorecard website, Experian’s customer service and customer support is ranked as “disappointing”; out of 322 comments, 92.55% (298) are negative.
Meanwhile, on Trust Pilot, one customer wrote: “The way they present the information is so unclear it has to be borderline illegal as well as dishonest, sneaky and just out of order. Thanks Experian your a prime example of the big companies that think you can do whatever you want and can be a law to themselves.”
