Garside switches to TMW Unlimited to head new biz

Steve Garside TMW UnlimitedTMW Unlimited has beefed up its new business operation with the appointment of MRM chief Steve Garside as divisional head of new business and marketing, working across the agency’s offices in London, Bristol and Reading.

Garside joins from MRM, where he had been head of new biz for the past four years, during which time the agency added 50 new clients to its roster, including Three Mobile, Macmillan, Subway, Halfords and British Land.

Prior to his role at MRM, Garside was at VCCP, leading business development across social, CRM and retail advertising. He has also had spells at Kitcatt Nohr, Pulse Group and Havas CX Helia.

He will report to Chris Mellish, the CEO of TMW Unlimited and head of Unlimited’s marketing division, who said: “I am delighted to count Steve as a member of our team. He shares our belief that for clients to truly thrive in today’s complex marketing landscape they need ideas that work across the entire customer journey and must have human understanding at their core.

“His achievements speak for themselves, and I can’t wait to see what he will bring to our next phase of growth.”

Garside added: “The opportunity to work with Chris and the team at TMW Unlimited was just too good to not drive head-first into. The breadth and quality of the agency’s offering across the UK is something I can’t wait to shout about – you can probably guess that I’m very excited.

“I look forward to getting stuck in with the hugely talented people across the agency, and help some new brands create ideas that move people.”

The agency’s most recent new business win was the Abba comeback event, Abba Voyage which will see TMW work with in-house marketing teams to deliver all integrated marketing, including CRM, design and data operations.

Meanwhile, earlier this summer, TMW bolstered its senior team with a double promotion that resulted in Emma Norman moving up to the role of chief client officer and Karen Morris becoming client services director, following what the agency claims has been an unprecedented year of growth.
