Leading charity donation platform goDonate has bolstered its leadership team with the appointment of industry experts Scott Gray and Vanessa Cartwright as non-executive directors.
Gray is the founder of Graytide, a consultancy specialising in payment value creation. He brings more than 25 years’ experience and expertise in payments and technology to the role, with a particular focus on helping charities to increase regular giving.
He was previously CCO at outsourced service provider Elovate and also held senior positions at Valldata as well as Rapidata. Gray was the inaugural chair of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising Supplier Forum, a role he held for four years.
He said: “It is now more critical than ever for charities to choose the right partner to provide online donor experiences that are quick, meaningful and trusted, so supporters feel value immediately. Organisations must keep their payment technology under constant review, while striving to maintain the strong donor relationships the sector is famed for in the UK.
“I’m looking forward to supporting Vicky and the team at goDonate by sharing my strategic experience to help accelerate the growth of an impressive product suite, and deliver even greater impact to the not-for-profit community.”
Meanwhile, Cartwright adds further depth of digital expertise to goDonate’s board. She is a former president North America & UK of Astound Digital. Her other senior roles have included CEO of New York-based digital ecommerce agency and software platform Fluid, and general manager of Blast Radius. She is also a founding adviser to AI-powered gifting platform Generous.
She said: “goDonate is growing fast and set for an exciting future. I’m keen to provide strategic oversight, guidance and constructive challenge to help the executive team make well-informed decisions.
“My role is also about ensuring charities achieve the best fundraising outcomes. The non-profit world continues to come under pressure from government agency cuts and cost-of-living increases. In addition, online expectations of friction-free experiences are high as rapid advances in AI continue to quickly change how people search, discover, interact and donate.”
goDonate founder and CEO Vicky Reeves commented: “We’re thrilled to welcome both Scott and Vanessa to goDonate’s board.
“Scott is a recognised and trusted figure in the charity sector. His deep expertise in payments and digital fundraising will be invaluable as we continue to grow and enhance our platform. In addition, he has been instrumental in helping organisations to increase regular giving – a key challenge in fundraising today. Scott’s strategic insight and sector knowledge will play a prominent role in helping to accelerate our mission to provide charities with powerful and accessible tools to increase sustainable fundraising.
“Vanessa’s background in leading innovative digital and ecommerce services and software businesses in the UK and internationally, alongside her understanding of the impact of AI, will help goDonate to keep evolving. We aim to stay at the forefront of helping charities to achieve their fundraising goals using our market-leading online donation tools.”
