HMV’s owner Hilco has recruited Barclaycard’s head of digital offers to be managing director of the retailer’s Pure customer loyalty programme.
Dan Truscott has been at Barclaycard since January 2009, joining from GE Money. While at the credit card giant he held the roles of senior business development manager and then head of business development before taking up his role of head of digital offers.
He will be responsible for launching a rebranded Pure in early October 2013 in the UK as well as updating the scheme in Canada. Xtra-vision, Ireland’s largest entertainment retailer, and the new HMV Ireland business (due to be launched in September), will also be joining the Pure programme.
HMV chairman Paul McGowan said: “We are very pleased to have recruited somebody of Dan’s calibre to develop and grow the customer loyalty programme.
“This appointment demonstrates our commitment to re-enter and grow the Pure customer loyalty service and to properly engage with our customer base which already numbers over five million registered members.”
“The new Pure scheme will bring unique rewards to its members and we will continue to seek other relevant partners to join the programme.”
