Jacob Bailey Group is launching a new initiative designed to encourage diversity across the agency’s business and has recruited former Mindshare chief Lucy Stafford – who has already worked with the company on training and mentoring – to head up the operation.
Dubbed the Brilliant Experiences Board, the unit has seven members from departments within the agency: Jacob Bailey (UK), Jacob Bailey (US), 032, Technical Studio and Operations. It aims to create a diverse composition of backgrounds, experiences and talent to tackle board-level business issues in three key categories: people, processes and growth.
Chaired by Stafford (pictured bottom right with the team), the board will meet monthly, alternating between Jacob Bailey Group’s offices in Ipswich and London.
Applications for board positions were open to all team members, with the exception of managing partners, across Jacob Bailey Group’s offices in Ipswich, Nottingham, London and New York.
The agency believes business growth often comes at a cost to culture. Instead, it should be achieved incrementally by encouraging small but regular improvement. It claims The Brilliant Experiences Board will ensure the agency is set up to continually refine its processes and be better integrated, as it moves closer to achieving its ambitions of being recognised as a great place to work and becoming a fully qualified agency.
Board members will benefit from career and personal development, while receiving guidance and mentorship from Stafford. Meanwhile, the board will look to improve job role management and the induction of new starters. It will also tackle key areas of growth, including SaaS product development, sales strategy and delivery.

Stafford started her career at RD Consultancy in 1991, then spent nearly 14 years at Tri-Direct, before switching to Mindshare in August 2007 to become managing director of direct. Since leaving in April 2013, she has divided her time between a number of non-exec and advisory roles.
She said: “Having worked with Jacob Bailey Group for a number of years across various projects including training and mentoring, I’m excited to be able to contribute to this important initiative. The agency is passionate about creating great work for clients, and developing its people and processes is a big part of that. The Brilliant Experiences Board will help set a much-needed industry standard for championing agency diversity.”
