SapientNitro has scooped a gold in the Mobile Lions category at Cannes, for its “Get Cash” campaign for Royal Bank of Scotland, with the UK also winning two silvers and a bronze.
The success represents one of the best returns from the finalists so far, with half the six UK finalists ending up winning gongs.
GetCash offers NatWest and RBS customers an easy fix for lost or forgotten cards, a way to quickly send money to family or friends in need, or a choice of leaving their wallets at home in favour of their mobile phones.
SapientNitro developed a mobile app, enabling customers to choose the amount of cash they would like to withdraw on their mobile. They then receive a one-use only secure code that can be used at any 1 of over 8,000 RBS, NatWest or Tesco ATMs in the UK.
Since the launch in June 2012 over 161,900 GetCash requests with a total value of £5.5m have been processed.
The two silvers went to Nimbletank, for its own agency launch, and 5 Creative London for the Gadget Show. Meanwhile Grey London walked off with a bronze for its app linked to the British Heart Foundation ‘Vinnie Jones Staying Alive’ campaign.
The grand prix went to DDB in the Philippines for Smart Communications.
