Notonthehighstreet recruits first customer director

Hannah Webley-SmithOnline marketplace Notonthehighstreet has recruited its first customer director to drive development of the customer experience and direct connections with small creative businesses through the site.
Hannah Webley-Smith has over ten years’ experience working in luxury and brand marketing and joins from Benefit Cosmetics where she was marketing director for UK and Ireland. She has previously worked with brands including L’Oreal, Jo Malone and Liz Earle.
Webley-Smith, who will become a member of the executive team, is the latest in a string of new hires for the retailer. To support the future growth and development of the brand, Notonthehighstreet recently appointed Sarah Atkins as head of brand marketing, who joined from John Lewis; Ben Irons has become head of digital from PHD UK; and Louise Winmill as Head of Corporate Communications and CSR from Freuds.
Notonthehighstreet chief executive Simon Belsham, who joined from Tesco last year, said: “We celebrated our tenth birthday last month with Open Door – our first ever physical retail event. With her wealth of experiential experience and expertise, Hannah will bring great insight that will help us to further build on these foundations and develop our unique customer experience, as well as strengthen our growing management team. I look forward to welcoming her and our other new recruits to the team.”
Notonthehighstreet works with over 5,000 of the UK’s creative small businesses. The company uses a variety of different channels to help tell the story of these partners and their products, driving brand understanding and engagement.
Partners are regularly featured in exclusively created video content for social channels, as well as showcasing their work through demonstrations and workshops at experiential events, such as Open Door, to help bring the brand to life.
