Proximity London creative services chief Justin Vir has been poached by Havas Worldwide London to take up the newly created role of head of digital delivery.
Vir, creative services and operations director at Proximity since March 2009, will spearhead the agency’s digital operation and report directly into chief executive Russ Lidstone.
He started his marketing career in 1995 at Centaur Media, working across a number of titles including Precision Marketing, before becoming digital publishing manager at then sister firm Linguaphone.
Following spells as a consultant and roles at Digit and Agency Republic, Vir joined Good Technology (now VML) as head of production in 2007. He switched to Proximity two years later.
During his time there, he led the integration of the agency’s on and offline capabilities and was a senior board member overseeing budgets, outsourcing, managing suppliers, as well as heading up the creative services department.
Lidstone said: “Justin is a proven force in digital operations. His arrival will strengthen our digital and integrated capabilities and build on our momentum in digital over recent years.”
Vir added: “As well as working with some fantastic clients, there’s a great opportunity for me to build on the strong digital capabilities [at Havas Worldwide London] and explore the creative opportunities where advertising, PR, social and digital.”
