Rapp has appointed Indicia chief Andy Barwood as executive creative director Ben Golik’s number two to help lead the UK’s creative output across the agency, including its data, technology and media offering.
Barwood, who takes up the role of creative partner, had been at Indicia since February 2014, and succeeded creative director Ian Bates. While there, he led campaigns for Nissan, Majestic and Carluccio’s.
Prior to that, he was creative parner at Karmarama. He has also had spells at Crayon London, TMW and Ogilvy & Mather and DMB&B in his native South Africa.
During his career Barwood has won over 40 industry awards, including a Cannes Lions, D&ADs and CLIOs.
Golik, who joined Rapp late last year, said: “Andy was the natural choice for this role. His passion and energy for producing genuinely creative and effective work, as well as his hands on approach to motivating those around him, were paramount factors in his hire.”
Barwood added: “Rapp’s focus on the customer experience, along with the exceptional talent and expertise found throughout the agency, gives it an unrivalled advantage in the industry. I’m looking forward to working with Ben to create work that we will all be proud of, has a purpose and can’t be ignored.”
