SapientNitro lands Kia digital brief

sapientnitro lands kia digital briefSapientNitro has managed to secure what many other agencies dream of by picking up its third car account after being appointed lead European digital agency for Kia Motors Europe.
The agency, which already handles Audi and Fiat, was last month bought by Publicis Groupe in a $3.7bn (£2.3bn) cash deal. The new entity Publicis.Sapient will see existing Publicis brands DigitasLBI, Razorfish and Rosetta folded in, although the future of the brands is less certain.
Kia has appointed SapientNitro to spearhead its digital platforms across the brand’s 20 markets in Europe, with activity including concept development, user experience, design, implementation and support. The agency will also handle some mobile and digital point-of-sale work in Kia showrooms.
The move comes six months after the company appointed VCCP me as its first retained CRM agency, following a three-way pitch. SapientNitro won the business following a pitch against two agencies.
Kia Motors Europe digital marketing manager Christiane Frisch said: “SapientNitro impressed us with their superb creativity and their technology expertise. Other major benefits are the agency’s global presence and its strengths on the execution side.
“We are confident we have chosen the right partner to engage with our target groups through all relevant channels, and to expand our market share across Europe.”
