Steve Broadhurst takes top creative role at 11 London

SteveBroadhurstHealth and humanity consultancy 11 London has hired Steve ‘slug’ Broadhurst as creative director in a move which reunites him with the agency’s co-founder and former Grey Healthcare strategy chief Matt Hunt.
Broadhurst was most recently executive creative director and managing partner at Grey Healthcare Group London, where he was involved in building up the creative department as well as winning and developing clients for more than six years.
He was part of the WPP team that won the global account for Xarelto, tasked with re-imagining Bayer’s biggest selling drug. He left the agency last October to pursue “new opportunities”.
Broadhurst has over 30 years’ experience as an art director, having started his career at GGT in 1986, where he spent nine years. He then had spells at Lowe, WWAV Rapp Collins (now Rapp), Joshua, and Rapier before moving to Domain London.
He joined Grey Healthcare in 2014, following a stint as a freelance.
Over the years Broadhurst has worked on multiple healthcare brands including GSK, Pfizer, Actelion and Astra Zeneca, with 40 major consumer awards and 17 in healthcare.
His not-for-profit experience includes campaigns for National Trust, Help the Aged, Alzheimer’s Research UK and Cancer Research UK, which won a Cannes Lion TV.
Launched in 2015 by Hunt and pharmaceutical comms specialist Stephen Buckley, 11 London works across health and humanity, with clients spanning organisations, brands and products that improve or prolong life. Clients include Novo Nordisk for human health, the World Health Organisation, RSPCA and UK Sepsis Trust.
Broadhurst, who joins on April 1, said: “Having worked across health and not for profit, it is hugely exciting to join 11 London, which puts these issues at the heart of everything it does. Experience tells me that wellbeing and digital innovation is critical to success, so you can evidence campaign impact, while engaging and involving patients. 11 has proven success in both these fields.”
Matt Hunt added: “Steve is the person we’ve been looking for, and when he became free we didn’t hesitate in inviting him to join 11 London. He’s unique in being so well versed in both health and humanity, and having won many creative awards in both.
“He’s created fantastic and highly emotive film and TV content as well as building some of the biggest global health brands in recent history. I really couldn’t think of a better creative head.”
