Three move on up as TMW heralds ‘sustained success’

TMW has made a series of senior promotions designed to reflect what it has called a “sustained period of commercial and creative success for the agency” since it was snapped up by Accenture Song in April last year.

First up, divisional head of new business and marketing Steve Garside has been promoted to chief growth officer, Since joining TMW in 2021,  he has led a record-breaking period of new business growth for the agency, with over 40 new clients in the past two years, including Suzuki’s integrated creative account and McDonald’s CRM.

In his new role Garside will continue to lead new business, being responsible for the overall growth of TMW, including fostering further collaboration throughout the Unlimited Group and Accenture Song.

Meanwhile, client services director Karen Morris becomes chief client officer, in recognition of her CSD role as well as playing a pivotal part in driving TMW’s recent pitch success as client lead on new wins (Suzuki, McDonald’s) and competitive retentions (The King’s Trust).

As CSD, Morris has driven four consecutive years of double-digit percentage growth and outstanding client satisfaction scores (90% of clients would recommend TMW to a peer).

She will continue to set the standards for delivering exceptional client experience in her new role, shaping the agency’s offering to answer evolving client needs.

Finally, creative director Phil Rhodes has been promoted to executive creative director, having ensured that the quality and effectiveness of TMW’s creative output been at the heart of its achievements.

Rhodes heads up several of the agency’s creative accounts (including the King’s Trust, Pride in London and Rail Delivery Group), while also playing a key role in new business success – including the recent McDonald’s pitch.

In his new position, he will continue to report into chief creative officer Graeme Noble, with broader responsibilities across the agency.

These appointments are three of over 20 promotions announced in January covering all areas of the business.

TMW  managing director Emma Norman said: “Talent has always been both our calling card as an agency, and the fuel for our success. Brilliant people produce brilliant work and inspire our clients to trust us with more. Our success has been driven by nurturing talent, embracing fresh ideas and creating an environment where everyone can bring their full selves to work – Steve, Karen and Phil as well as being perfect examples of that are also inspiring and respected senior leaders across the business and this recognition is very well deserved.”
