TMW backs kids story app with Halloween twist

Bagger-werewolf_swampActor Ray Brooks, the narrator of the much-loved Mr Benn animated TV series, is adding his dulcet tones to a new children’s interactive story app, devised by TMW Unlimited’s associate creative director, Preston Rutt.
The Haunting of Bagger Bones won the runner up prize in the last year’s TMW Project Iliad business incubator programme, designed to get staff to come up with new business ideas.
Rutt securing the financial and strategic backing of the agency to bring the app to market.
It is an interactive story that allows children to become the star of the adventure, as they come face-to-face with a mischievous skeleton, which has a twist that TMW claims will prompt children to experience again and again.
Available via the App Store, and aimed at children aged 3-7, The Haunting of Bagger Bones has been released to coincide with Halloween.
It lets children add their name and their own ‘scary’ photos to personalise their character, before setting off on an adventure where they themselves are integral to the plot; no two hauntings are ever the same.
TMW joint chief executive Chris Pearce said: “It’s great to see another Project Iliad idea become a reality. We’re so proud to have such talent in the agency and supporting entrepreneurial spirit is hugely important to us.”
Rutt added: “There’s so much more to digital storytelling than a page-turning pdf. The Haunting Of Bagger Bones makes full use of the awesome processing power we all have at our fingertips via our smartphones – creating a unique and engaging storytelling experience for kids.”
