McCain Foods, the company which offers everything from micro-pizzas to rustic chips, has pulled its digital account out of Stack and handed it to TMW following a three-way pitch.
The agency has been briefed to oversee McCain’s website and social media strategy, as well as promote the brand’s sponsorship of Emmerdale online.
Stack – previously CMW – had held the business since 2010, beating McCain’s ad agency BMB, as well as WCRS.
The company, which claims to be the world’s largest producer of chips, was founded by four Canadian brothers – Harrison McCain, Wallace McCain, Robert McCain, and Andrew McCain – in 1957 and is still privately held by their descendants.
It has been a major user of digital marketing for years and has also used Underwired for eCRM and Blue Chip Marketing for digital promotional campaigns.
Mark Hodge, the marketing director at McCain Foods, said: “TMW impressed us with their FMCG expertise and particularly their knowledge of reaching our target audience online in a relevant way.”
Last week, TMW joined forces with sister Creston Group PR consultancy Nelson Bostock to create an agency that aims to bring together the best in social, digital communications and PR.
