Never let it be said that I don’t keep you Busty fans informed of all the big moves in this marvellous industry we all hold dear. Come Friday, you are guaranteed to be able to enjoy your weekend, sound in the knowledge that you are well and truly in the loop.
And, let me tell you, news doesn’t come much bigger than this from Centaur Media, home to such delights as The Engineer, Mortgage Strategy, Brand Strategy, Data Strategy (still hanging on in there…just), Strategy Strategy (OK I made that one up, but a girl can dream) and who could possibly forget The Festival of Marketing? (quite a few people last year it seems)…
Anyway, there I was minding my own business, hard at it at my desk, when suddenly this email popped up, quite literally, from said Festival: “We’re excited to announce Monica Lewinsky as one of our Headliners who will be speaking at this year’s Festival of Marketing.
“Monica will be joining us to share her experience as ‘Patient Zero’ – the first person to lose her reputation as the focal point of a global digital media maelstrom. She will speak about brand compassion and digital reputation.”
See, I told it was big…
Now, I know it’s easy to carp – that’s why I like doing it – but are they really that desperate to get marketers to go along that they have to resort to the woman whose only claim to fame is that she had a cigar shoved up her fanny in the White House?
More to the point, if they wanted someone with big tits and a sense of humour, who could hold a crowd, why didn’t they just ask little ol’ Busty? Now that would have been massive news…
Talking of massive, there was a little bit too much competition for me last night at Limelight PR’s summer party. I thought I was stacked until I bumped into one of their new account directors; her name escapes me but she sure was making waves as she serenaded me with her version of “Walking on Sunshine”. If I didn’t know her better, I might have got the impression that she was after me.
Mind you, that video would sell like hot cakes, and maybe, just maybe, Busty and Bustier could be the winning formula that The Festival of Marketing is really looking for…
