James Deeley (pictured) will work as part of the agency’s strategy team, using a conceptual and strategic approach, and report to chief strategy officer Rick Curtis.
Deeley started his career at LBi as an art director, then switched to OgilvyOne. In August 2007, Deeley joined Conchango as senior creative strategist before taking up the role of creative director and head of creative strategy at Th_ink. While there, he co-founded the Pottermore digital brand experience, and creatively led the development of the ‘The Utopia Inquiry’, an award-winning transmedia experience for the Channel 4 drama Utopia.
During the past 15 years he has worked on brands including Asics, American Express, Sony PlayStation, BBC, River Island and T-Mobile.
Curtis said: “With his wealth of knowledge in creating digital experiences and campaigns, we are thrilled that James will be joining the strategy team at Amaze. Our passion lies in helping organisations break new ground in the digital space and with James’ expertise, we will be able to better our offering, as we constantly look to push boundaries and achieve more ambitious results on behalf of our clients.”
Deeley added: “When considering my next role I was looking for an ambitious and forward-thinking consultancy, and Amaze made what should have been a difficult decision really very simple. With one of the most impressive and growing client portfolios in the industry, Amaze really leads the way when it comes to providing clients with outstanding strategic direction and big ideas to meet their commercial objectives.”
