Beale in, Rogers out at Campaign

Beale in, Rogers out at CampaignAdmen across London will be cracking open the champagne to toast the return of the “chosen one” after Haymarket revealed Claire Beale is to return as editor of industry trade rag Campaign.
The move sees Danny Rogers forced to go back to PR Week as editor in chief after 18 months of – as one Haymarket insider put it – “attempting to turn Campaign into a schoolkids’ version of the Financial Times”.
Rogers effectively replaces editor Ruth Wyatt, who “stepped down” last week, although the company claimed this was because of the relocation from Hammersmith to Teddington.
At the time, Wyatt said: “The brand is in great shape with a great team and I’m confident PR Week will go from strength to strength.”
Beale’s return is said to have been fuelled by the success of her relaunch of Marketing. The insider added: “Claire has got what she wants – a move back to Campaign – while Danny has been told to sort the PR Week mess out. They are essentially back where they were 18 months ago but with freelancers trying to keep PR Week afloat.”
Rogers will remain editor-in-chief of Haymarket’s Brand Republic portfolio, which includes Campaign, Marketing, Brand Republic and Media Week.
Beale said: “I’m really excited about immersing myself in Campaign, particularly with regard to its international expansion. The brand has a fantastic heritage and has so much potential.”
