JN Bank has undergone a major rebranded in the UK after being bought out by UK and US investers, with a new online presence devised by Equimedia.
Thisbank was formerly part of the Jamaica National Group, a member-owned financial services organisation which started life almost 150 years ago as the Westmoreland Building Society before merging with three other building societies to form the Jamaica National Building Society.
The fintech is now taking a customer-centric approach to savings and loans, offering easy access and fixed term savings accounts with competitive interest rates, through easy-to-use and engaging navigation of the new site. There is also information about loans and how to access useful tools such as a savings calculator.
The site explores Thisbank’s approach to banking and its commitment to providing banking to anyone, including those customers who do not fit the usual profile such as the self-employed, or first-time buyers.
Prospective savers can apply for a new savings account, calculate how long it will take them to reach their savings goal and see how much the interest they earn will increase their savings over time. There is also a useful support hub offering advice for those in financial need.
Thisbank’s investment approach focuses on specialist assets and portfolios, areas that require “dedicated expertise and careful attention”, which it says sets the bank apart in “today’s competitive mainstream market.”
The bank will come under the leadership of chief executive Chris Waring, who has previously worked at banking giants Lloyds Banking Group and Barclays, and chief transformation officer Declan Halton-Woodward, a former private banker and senior public servant.
Halton-Woodward said: “Equimedia clearly understood what we wanted to communicate to our existing and new customers, and have made the process of developing the new site enjoyable and straightforward. We look forward to working with them as we continue to develop our services.”
Equimedia chief operating officer Ross Britton: added: “The site we have designed reflects Thisbank’s customer-centric ethos and its aim to provide approachable and helpful banking services. We look forward to partnering them as they develop their products and continue on, what promises to be, an exciting growth trajectory.”
