Working closely across all teams within the agency, Syal has a brief to sharpen Medialab’s product vision, enhance digital product delivery at scale, and ensure its proprietary operating system, Apollo, continues to drive more effective outcomes for the agency’s client partners.
Syal spent five years at Brainlabs, where he was global COP, leading product strategy across the business.
Prior to that, he worked at WPP’s Essence (now EssenceMediacom) in the same role, covering the EMEA region.
Syal brings deep technical and agency experience, alongside a strong track record of building and evolving products that deliver tangible value for brands.
He commented: “Medialab has built a unique proposition that stands out in the market, combining data-led thinking with a deep commitment to doing the right thing for clients.
“I’m excited to work closely with teams across the agency to help scale and strengthen its product, and ensure we continue to deliver meaningful impact and outcomes for our client partners.”
Medialab chief executive and co-founder Marcus Orme said: “We’re delighted to welcome Mark to Medialab. His experience leading product teams, combined with his curiosity and collaborative approach, makes him a fantastic fit for the agency.
“Mark’s appointment is a significant step as we shape the next phase of Medialab’s growth and continue to evolve how we deliver for our client partners.”
The appointment follows a period of strong growth at Medialab and recent new business wins, including Loveholidays, Ancestry, WWF, IG Group UK and Rathbones.
